Our Crew

The Team

Our team is made of four members; Becky, Judita (me), Chloe Jean and Sumiyya. We are creating a movie trailer, poster, and magazine cover. Each one of us has an important role in the team, this way we can distribute the work equally. A movie trailer is used to advertise a movie, it shows the audience the basic plot of the movie without giving away any spoilers, so that the audience would want to watch the movie at cinemas.

Role:Director

A film director is in charge of making sure that every part of the movie runs smoothly. A director is there every step of the way, and they have a say in everything, from picking the script, to choosing the cast. A director controls a films artistic and dramatic aspects, and guides the crew.

Role:Producer

A film producer is in charge of raising the funds for the movie, hiring people who work on the movie,  and arranging distributors. Producers control every aspect of a film's production, and are accountable for the success of the finished film. Producers have to approve things suchs as location or script.

Name:Chloe Jean

Role:Director of photography

Directors of photography or cinematographers are in charge of creating the visual identity of the film.  They work with the director and the creative departments to achieve this. They manage all aspects of filming and review the footage afterwards. 

Name:Sumiyya
Role:Production design & editing

A production designer is in charge of every visual aspect of a film e.g. costumes. They work with both the director and producer in order to produce a budget and a schedule. An editor works closely with the director to edit the finished film. 

Meeting Minutes

First we discussed eachothers strengths and weaknesses (e.g. creativity, camera work, editing skills, leading skills etc), we did this in order to decide on the role that each of us had in the team.

We all wanted to do a trailer for a movie using the resources that we have around us. The location obviously being London, perhaps more towards east London. We wanted to do a low budget film trailer about something that we could all relato to or have some knowledge about.

We decided that we are going to make a gangster film trailer, although we had other choices of sci-fi, police, and supernatural horror. But considering out location options and aour knowledge, we decided that a gangster film trailer would be the best choice for us.
